Say It Great

There’s pretty much no way I’ll climb any mountain, let alone the world’s highest. But, I sure as hell will read about someone climbing a mountain, like I did when I burned through Jon Krakauer’s Into Thin Air, about a disaster on the mountain that happened at the same time this documentary was being filmed. It’s been too long for me to remember, but I believe the story in the book is a lot darker than the one told in this documentary. Both crews crossed paths on the mountain, but weren’t on the same expedition.

Needless to say, my interest was naturally peaked when I came across these ads for the documentary (see that I did there).

But, how do you sell other folks on seeing a documentary about the tallest point on earth, with a horrific disaster as the subplot, through the power of words? Unconventional headlines sure help.

These ads speak toward this epically rough trek in a cheeky, but respectful way. And, even as I’m typing this up, I’m really curious what the film is like.

And, now all I can think of to close this out is to sign off with some other Mountain pun. But, I’ll save you this time. Only this time.

Hi, I’m Chase. I’ll be taking a few moments here and there to post about advertising writing that says things great, and not just straight.
